How It Works

Do I need an account to use the app?

Yes, you need to create an account to access content, groups, and the Marketplace.

Can I have more than one account?

Currently, only one account is allowed per mobile device.

How do I delete my account?

You can log out at any time or delete your account from your profile, at the bottom of the menu. It’s not required to delete it to stop using the app.

How do I create an account?

Download Vecinos App from the App Store or Google Play and follow the registration steps on a single device. Upon logging in, you must verify your identity, a crucial step in ensuring a safe and trustworthy environment for all. Then, you can start interacting or access the Marketplace.

Why verify my identity?

Verification confirms that each user is a real neighbor. This boosts community trust and improves the quality of interactions.

What if I don’t receive the verification code?

The 4-digit code may arrive via SMS or WhatsApp. If it doesn’t, try again. If the issue persists, email us at soporte@vecinos.com for help.

Groups and Community

The benefits of creating a group and being part of a community.

How do I create or join a group?

Go to the Groups section and tap “Create group” or “+”. To join, enter the desired group and tap “Join”. If it’s public, you’ll be able to enter right away; if it’s private, you’ll need to wait for the admin to accept you.

How do I invite someone to a group?

Inside the group, tap the member's icon in the top corner. Choose “Send to neighbor” for existing users or “Share via” to invite others to join.

Posts

Connect with your neighbors through posts. You can create various types of content and interact by commenting and reacting.

What kind of content can I find and create in Vecinos App?

You can publish various types of content tailored to your needs, including emergencies, incidents, messages, useful information, events, questions, recommendations, and promoted posts.

What is an Emergency?

This type of post can only be created by community authorities, service providers, and local media. It’s meant to share urgent alerts. Neighbors receive a notification via the app and an alert on their device when an emergency is triggered.

What is an Incident?

Available to all users, incidents are used to report situations that need attention but are not urgent.

What is a Message?

A post meant to share a thought, idea, or experience. It doesn’t have a specific goal, just a space for expression. The user must select one or two categories that best describe the post.

What is Useful Information?

Only community authorities, service providers, and local media can create this type of post. It is used for official communications and to share relevant information with neighbors.

What is an Event?

An Event post lets neighbors know about fairs, celebrations, courses, meetups, or any activity. You can configure the theme, date and time, location (physical or virtual), whether it’s free or not, and add event details.

What is a Question?

A post type meant to get answers from neighbors, whether it’s a recommendation, a question on a specific topic, or a request for opinions. The user must select one or two categories that best describe the post.

What is a Recommendation?

A post designed to share good experiences with services, products, places, people, and/or professionals, whether found within or outside of Vecinos App.

What is a Promoted Post?

Available to all users, promoted posts are ads offered by Vecinos App. They provide more visibility and appear in a privileged position on the feed, helping your content get more attention and messages from neighbors.

What is @#$%&!!!!?

It’s a space for everyday catharsis to vent frustrations. Destructive, hateful, or sensitive content is not allowed. All content is moderated to maintain a respectful environment.

Marketplace

Buy and sell new or used items safely and with confidence.

What is the Marketplace and why is it safe?

It’s a section of the app for buying and selling products or offering services among neighbors. Unlike other platforms, every user here is verified, ensuring real transactions between real people and creating a trustworthy local environment.

How do I buy or sell something?

Go to the Marketplace from the menu. You can post a product or service. Include item/service details, price, and photos. Interested users will contact you directly through the app.

Are there costs for posting?

• Services: Require a monthly subscription. If not renewed after 30 days, your post is removed, and you’ll be notified.

• Products: Sales are subject to a transaction fee (covering payment processing, app infrastructure, and operations).

How are payments handled?

All payments are processed within the app, currently through Mercado Pago. Our digital wallet, Vecinos Pay, is coming soon. Cash payments or off-platform transactions are not allowed.

Economic transactions conducted outside the system are not supported by the app. To avoid risks or unfortunate situations, all payments should be made using the secure methods provided by Vecinos App. This ensures transparency, buyer protection, and traceability in every transaction.

What safety measures are recommended?

• Meet in public places to hand over products

• Always use in-app messaging

• Keep your device updated to prevent fraud

• Report suspicious activity

• Be cautious of deals that seem too good to be true, review all info before buying

How does the rating system work?

Each time you complete a sale or purchase, you can rate and leave a comment. This helps identify trustworthy users and improves the overall community experience.
